Mixing
Method |
|
| |
Mixture ratio: 1-gram pigment
to 2 drops of glue (natural skin glue) from brush No.5
(except for black). For black pigment, one can estimate
mixture ratio easily once the other colors of natural
pigment are mixed. |
| |
|
Mix well to prepare paste
of color and then add few drops of water as required.
|
| |
| |
After mixing properly, check
to see whether the mixture is correct. Apply a stroke
of paste on canvas and leave it to dry for about 15 minutes.
When the test paint is properly dried, rub the paint gently
with your finger. If the color rubs off on your finger
it shows that the glue in the mixture was not enough.
So, add a little glue. If the test paint on the canvas
is sticky even after it was left to dry for 15 minutes
it shows that there was excess amount of glue in the mixture
and also the natural twinkles cannot be seen in the painting.
|
| |
|
Add water according to thickness
required for the painting. |
| |
|
Once acquainted with the mixing
method, one needs not repeat the paint testing procedure
every time. |

Our
Advice:
Use fine canvas for better
results of natural pigments.
Do not roll the painting if you paint on texturized canvas. |
