These colors are also known as historical
pigment, ancient pigment, traditional pigment, mineral
pigment, stone pigment, dry pigment, natural pigment,
real pigment etc. The history of such natural pigment
dates back 1200 years or more and such pigments are
procured from precious stone mines. All varieties of
the stone pigments are not found in a single territory.
They are collected from different mines which are generally
in remote areas of different countries like Nepal, India,
Tibet and Myanmar, . |

Paintings and FRESCO PAINTINGS. Ancient interior wall
paintings and decorations (Fresco Painting) inside the
ancient Temples, Monasteries, Churches, Musjids etc.
were painted with Natural Pigments. |

These pigments have different density
as such, uniform volume of each pigment come in different
weights. Some colors like red and cream-white weigh
relatively heavier than others, like precious metals
- gold & silver. The black pigment is an exception,
which is made from the soot of mustard oil lamp, and
as such it is super light. This is their natural quality. |
